Springtail Culture Requirements: Container: Small plastic container with a lid Substrate: Activated charcoal with a little dried moss Spray Bottle: To mist with water Steps to Start a Springtail Culture: Prepare the Container: Add 1-2 inches of substrate. Moisten the Substrate: Mist with RO water until damp. Add Springtails: Introduce the springtail culture. Provide Food: Sprinkle yeast, powdered fish food, or rice flour. Light Source: Use low-intensity light, avoiding direct sunlight. Maintain the Culture: Mist regularly and add food as needed. Check for mold or pests. Quantity : We add over 100 springtails before dispatch to compensate for any losses during transit. While we can’t guarantee the exact number you’ll receive, they are part of a thriving mother culture. Even if you receive few, they will naturally repopulate within two weeks.
